Every Individual who is willing to become a director in a new company or in existing company need to apply for the Director Identification number (DIN) that is the unique identification number allotted to every director after submitting the various details in the form DIR -3 .

The concept of Director KYC was introduced in the year 2018. Any director who was allotted a DIN by or on 31 March 2018 and whose DIN is in approved status will have to submit his KYC details to the MCA before 30th September of the immediately next financial year.

After the expiry of Due date, non-filing of DIR-3 KYC leads to deactivation of the DIN.

    Difference between DIR-3 KYC and DIR-3 KYC web services

    Any DIN holder, who is filing his KYC details for the first time with MCA, must file all KYC details only through eForm DIR-3 KYC.

    For Further years if director want to update any of his KYC details, it can be done only through eForm DIR-3 KYC.

    Any DIN holder who has already submitted eForm DIR-3 KYC in any of the previous financial years and who does not require update in any of his KYC details as submitted, may perform his annual KYC by accessing DIR-3 KYC web service only.

     

    Process of Filing DIR-3 KYC web services

    First is required to visit MCA website “mca.gov.in”and the login or create your account

    After login click on MCA services ,there is option of ‘DIN services’ and then click on “DIR 3 KYC WEB”

    Enter your DIN number and generate OTP ‘S for email ID and mobile number.

    Fill two separate otps in email and mobile.

    A challan is generated with zero fees and check the status.

    Time limit of filing Form DIR 3 KYC

    Every individual who is allotted DIN as on 31st March of a financial year must submit his KYC on or before 30th September of the immediately next financial year.

    Various Details Required for Filing DIR-3 KYC

    ✍️ Name

    ✍️ Father’s name

    ✍️ Date of Birth

    ✍️ PAN number

    ✍️ Personal Mobile Number

    ✍️ Personal Email ID

    ✍️ Permanent /Present address

    ✍️ Aadhaar is mandatory, if assigned otherwise Voter ID, Passport, driving license.

    Notes:-

    All the details filled should be same as PAN.

    Requirement of Digital signature of Individual for filing the form.

    Passport is mandatory if a foreign national and foreign number shall only be allowed.

    Procedure to file a Form DIR-3 KYC

    To start with ,form is download and fill all details of director such as name ,father’s name ,mobile number, email id ,address etc.

    It is mandatory to declare your Permanent Account Number (PAN). After entering your PAN details click on the ‘Verify income-tax PAN’ button. The system will then verify your details based on the PAN card number.

    The various attachments are as follow :-

    🔯 Self-attested copy of PAN Card

    🔯 Self-attested Copy of Aadhar Card

    🔯 Self-attested of Passport (If available)

    🔯 Self-attested Copy of address proof

    🔯 In case of foreign national, passport is mandatory and all the documents should be notarized and apostille from the consulate.

    The Form is digitally signed by a Practicing Chartered Accountant/Cost Accountant or a Company Secretary and also digitally signed by the director, for whom the form is filed.

    After successful pre-scrutiny, the form must be saved and only after saving the form, the ‘Send OTP’ button gets enabled and by clicking on ‘Generate OTP’ button. Separate OTPs will be sent to your mobile number and email ID.

    An OTP can be successfully sent to the mobile number and email ID against one form for a maximum of 10 times in one day, and twice in a span of 30 minutes.

    The form e-Form DIR-3 KYC is uploaded successfully, an SRN is generated and allotted to the user for the future use correspondence with the MCA. The applicant will receive an email that acknowledges the receipt of the form on his personal email ID.

    Fees for Filing DIR- 3 KYC

    Form DIR-3 KYC, if filed within the due date of the respective financial year, no fee is payable.

    If the DIN holder does not file his annual KYC within the due date of each financial year, such DIN shall be marked as ‘Deactivated due to non-filing of DIR-3 KYC’ and shall remain in such Deactivated status until KYC is done with a fee of Rs.5000.
